Second tooth gone!

Yes, second one in five days. There will be a visit again tonight from the magical tooth fairy. Couldn't have happened at a better time. She lost the tooth literally 10 minutes before we left for school this morning and it's school photo day today!

Party Planning - Woodland Fairy Costumes

Here is a little sneak peak of the costumes I'm having made for the seven little girls who will be invited to Olivia's Birthday party.

Picture 21

They are currently being finished off and will be shipped to me soon from the USA. I just can't wait to receive the box. I want to surprise the girls as they walk in with their very own costume. They will be in shades of pink and purple with ferns and greenery. So magical!

My son will also be at the party and at first I wanted to dress him as a gnome, but couldn't find a costume that didn't scare me. So he will be a woodlands prince.

I have a big photoshoot happening in two weeks for Peekaboo Magazine and once that is over, I'll start work on making eight toadstools like this one!

The lost tooth

Today was a BIG day in our house. Olivia lost her first tooth.

Proud as punch

The tooth has been lose for over a month now and much anticipation has been building over past few days. This morning I asked Olivia if I could have a wobble (as I do each day to check on the tooth status), however this time I also reached for a tissue and just calmly pulled it out.

Olivia was in shock! With the blood and the new feeling of the missing tooth I thought she was going to pass out. Seriously. Between her and her Dad you would have thought someone was injured.

Daddy and Olivia

Many tears from Daddy and Olivia later (well, only a few from Daddy) and we set up the much anticipated Fairy Door ..........

Fairy door

and here is the little box she choose to place her tooth in. The key for the Tooth Fairy to unlock the door and enter her bedroom and the glitter she will leave behind her when she departs.

Patiently waiting

Oh the magic of being a child. If you would like to purchase your on customized Fairy Door click here.

Easter getaway

We were lucky enough to visit the beach for a 4 night stay over the Easter long weekend. Perry and I also celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary with a bottle of Bol and Vintage Verve and chinese take out! We all sat out on the balcony, cheers'd each other (just made that word up) and answered cute questions from the kids about weddings and love and funny stuff like that. We got a blow by blow demonstration of how you kiss when you are married .... so cute!

The weather was very kind to us and we were able to visit my Dad for a short time which was wonderful.

The kids love this trampoline. Olivia managed to work out how to do flips. She also managed to land on her head.

They get their chip obsession from Dad and chocolate from me.

I love William's chubby lips in this photo. He was concentrating so hard on building his lego.

I hope you are all enjoying your Easter break with your families.

Relaxing Easter Sunday Lunch

For me this would be the perfect Easter Lunch setting. A group of friends and family gather outside, sitting under the shade of a huge old tree. The kids playing happily together, collecting chocolate eggs, but only eating one or two!
We will be on the beautiful Sunshine Coast this Easter long weekend, visiting my Dad and celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary.
What are your plans this weekend?

Easter decorating

I don't know about you, but it's crazy busy at the Dollar house at present. We won't be here for the Easter weekend, however I wanted to create a simple Easter decoration we could enjoy in the lead up to Easter that wouldn't take long to put together and didn't cost the earth.

I've got a fasination with cloches and terrariums at present, so I knew I wanted to include a glass jar in the display.

easter for blog

Paper and ribbon bunting from Details, details! (thanks girls!)

Pink milk glass cake stand from Donna Hay General Store (I already had this)

Glass jar from Ikea (I had these left over from Christmas 2008)

Choc Lindt Bunny and Darrel Lea eggs

As you can see, there's no need for a tutorial. I literally popped the eggs and bunny in the jar and voila! Hope you are enjoying the lead up to Easter.
