I want to bake/eat sweets, and look that good!!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy putting together parties and thinking what would Amy do. I can't wait to see her book :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure if this comp is open to New Zealanders but I would absolutely love to win this!
ReplyDeleteI started up a baking blog a little over a year ago and Amy has inspired me to make dessert tables for friends and families. I made a Toy Story dessert table for my mums 50th last year, all thanks to Amy's inspiration.
Also, I love your blog, it is so beautiful and is also an inspirational!
I love the creativity and loveliness of Amy's food and party ideas. I have attempted some of the ideas myself but are not as successful as yet, I wish to be able to do things like hers eventually.
ReplyDeleteAmy's blog inspired me to start doing dessert tables for my kids birthdays. Up to 4 so far and nowhere near as fantastic as Amy's but getting better each go!! xx
ReplyDeleteAmy inspires me to take pride in the small things - my (not always) perfect cupcakes, our lovingly laid table and the creative celebrations we share with family and friends. Turns out these are expressions of something very large - love. And nothing is more inspiring that that - thank you Amy!
ReplyDeleteI started blogging almost a year ago in order to share all the amazing and inspiring things I found on the net. I have always loved events, styling and baking, but until I started my blog, hadn't heard of Amy Atlas. Once I found out about her I was in love (and awe) with all the amazing things she has created and the business and brand she has built for herself. So many people are inspired by her and she is a true mentor to anyone and everyone looking at getting involved in the events, craft, baking, styling, blogging and branding industries. If I ever do anything anywhere near as amazing as Amy, I will be so proud and so grateful to her for her inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOMGOSH!!! I Would be SO EXCITED to win this signed copy of Amy's new book Sweet Designs. Amy's blog was the first professional dessert stylist I stumbled across back in 2009. I still remember the first thing I ever found & read about Amy was the party she styled for Brooke Shields daughter. And I have been a huge fan & admirer ever since. Oh Fingers Crossed. Thank you so much Sharnel for this opportunity : )
ReplyDeleteI love to entertain. That is why I wrote a book about it.I would love to add Amy's book to my collections.
ReplyDeleteWhen I found out that I was going to be planning a baby shower for my oldest daughter, 2 years ago, I immediately searched the internet for party ideas. I've always loved planning parties and entertaining, but as an avid baker, was wanting to do more to display my homemade desserts for this special occasion. When I searched, Amy's site was the first one that I came across...had never even heard of the concept of decorative dessert tables...and WOW - was I overwhelmed and my passion just went through the roof! Thank you Amy! Now, being out of work for over a year, I've decided to turn my passion into a business...with inspiration from Amy, Sharnel and all those that have followed in their footsteps as well! I so hope to win this book for additional inspiration and guidance as I continue to make a 'go' of my dessert table business. :)
ReplyDeleteAmy is to event tables as is Bakerella to cake pops - an absolute guru and pioneer in her niche. Her work is always impeccably displayed, thoughtfully appraised and endlessly creative. I try to do amateur dessert tables to show off my invitation work for photos and I would dearly love to pull off something with even a tiny bit of her panache...still waiting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous giveaway - thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love that Amy inspires me to make the most spectacular (or sometimes quite simple) parties for my beautiful little girl just through a bit of thought, colour, levels, the applicaiton of simple details, theming and a whole lot of love. For me, putting together an Amy Atlass inspired party is another way for me to tell my beautiful little girl, "I love you!"
What a fabulous giveaway, Sharnel. I am so excited about the release of the book. It was actually you that introduced me to Amy Atlas and since that day she has been inspiring each dessert table that I put together for my family. Her work is amazing :)
ReplyDeleteShe is so clever just like you x
ReplyDeleteIt is so wonderful and unique to find people that talented, that can, at the same time, pass their inspiration through!
ReplyDeletevery nice present..
ReplyDeleteAmy inspired me to create really cut e birthday parties for my kids and i have now turned it into a small business. I have learnt so much from her and get a lot of inspiration too! This book would do wonders for me!
ReplyDeleteShe is the master! My favourite table of hers is still the green & white really classic style. With the helium balloons. I wish I could think of all the ideas she comes up with! But then I feel the same about you Sharnel! lovT
ReplyDeleteMinha filha já fez 12 anos, e suas festas de aniversário ficam cada vez melhores graças às ideias da Amy. Todas as coisas que crio são inspiradas no que ela mostra no blog. Ela é maravilhosa!!
ReplyDeleteAmy is my hero! lol Her attention to detail inspires me to (try to) create the same :) I can't wait for the release of her book - what a treat! :)
ReplyDeleteI love how Amy can think of so many different styles for parties and I just love designing parties and would love to get more experience and knowledge with her fabulous new book! I can't wait to see it xx
ReplyDeleteLike many others i hadn't really heard of a dessert table but wow...the inspiration from Amy, yourself and many other creative ladies got me to attempt it! My first attempt for my baby girl's christening wasn't too bad and my family and friends loved it! It created such a talking point and now some of my friends have also attempted dessert tables. Amy seems like such a genuine lovely person and i love reading her blog!
ReplyDeleteSo i guess Amy has inspired me to give it a go and who knows what you can create! Sometimes the simplest ideas work the best!
Growing up, my mum and dad loved entertaining friends and family at home. From this, my love of planning and decorating parties and events grew. I had always wanted to be an event stylist but never quite had the courage to follow my dream. Last year, whilst planning my son's Christening, I came across Amy's website. I was in awe of her beautiful designs and attention to detail. I was also inspired by her story. I particularly admire the way Amy supports other stylists with featured submissions on her blog and shares her knowledge (a sign of a wonderful leader and mentor). With encouragement from my friends and family and the support of my husband, I have now started my own company - styling events and designing dessert and lolly tables. I am always referring to Amy's blog (as well as our creative Australians) for recipes, ideas and inspiration - thank you! PS. Sharnel, thank you for this opportunity and also for your wonderful blog and ideas. You were the first Australian stylist I came across and I bought my very first apothecary/candy jars from your retail site. Nicole x
ReplyDeleteI thank Amy and many of the others in the blogger world for bringing out a creativity and artisitc side in me I didn't know I had. I laugh at my Hen's night dessert table now, but heading to my daughters 4th birthday I have come a long way and love creating, baking and styling our parties. Life is full of a lot more pretty things than I would have ever dreamed of before being insipred by Amy and many other creative people out there. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteClaire-elisa
The first time I viewed Amy's beautiful dessert tables, a whole new world of visual delights was opened up to me. Her work has inspired total creativity for my own chidren's birthday parties.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved making cakes for my kids birthdays and through Amy and Your website I am now so inspired to do so much more than just the cake. It really adds to the feel of the whole party. I love gathering ideas from Amy's designs and the simplicity that can look so elegant. Thanks Amy
ReplyDeleteLove love love your work Amy! So inspiring and fun to look through. I get lost for hours on your site! Cant wait for the book.
ReplyDeleteOh boy. Whenever I have a party now I am so much more careful about how I style the food! Also, my collection of footed glass jars would not exist without her influence.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realise there was this whole fantastic world of party planning and lolly buffets, and so many gorgeous finishing touches until I was organising a surprise party for my mother and stumbled upon Amy Atlas. That party was a pink-and-white dessert table, and a hit! Thanks to Amy. Since then I've hosted parties for my son and my husband, and I'm very much looking forward to my two daughters' parties later this year. Parties are FUN! :)
ReplyDeleteAmy Atlas ...she's great and all and I would LOVE a signed copy of her book. However I would die for a copy of Sharnel's book/magazine!!!
ReplyDeleteAmy inspired me to make every occasion a pretty one! No matter how small, the presentation makes the world of difference.
ReplyDeleteAmy has also inspired me so much and so has you, Sharnel. =)
ReplyDeleteLife is short so we should all party with style.
I never knew you could make tables and parties look so beautiful! I'll never entertain without a lovely theme or inspiration again. You're the best Amy!!
ReplyDeleteI have always enjoyed putting on a good party, but it wasn't until I found Amy's inspiring dessert tables that I took my parties to a whole new level. Now I can't seem to get enough of entertaining and making fun dessert tables! I can't wait to see what she's come up with to rock the party world now!
ReplyDeleteI love planning and styling parties and always use story boards.
ReplyDeleteI love getting all the ideas together but I would be ecstatic if I had in my whole body the stunning talents Amy and Sharnel have in just their little fingers :-)
For now I just have to rely on pinterest, my favourite blogs, google images and of course this fabulous book!
Oh and Sharnel, I blame you for my current candy jar and drink dispenser addiction xx
amy took any celebratin and turned it up a notch...i can't imagine having a party without her ideas. very inspirational
ReplyDeleteI am sure Amy has inspired many to host the perfect party, dress the dessert table in perfect colour and theme. However to me she has inspired me in a much more personal way. She has inspired me to overlook societies biases and pressures of just being a stay at home mother – that women can really make their mark in society and achieve something in their life before and after having their kids. Amy has risen to a position of such stature in her field, that she has really proven you can have your cake and eat it too.
ReplyDeleteJust like Amy started out, I am a lawyer with no design background. Amy has inspired me to delve into my creative side, not only for dessert tables but in many aspects of my life.
ReplyDeleteThat those small details make it so much more personal and give it such a wow factor. Her dessert tables for example - everywhere you look there is a detail that catches your eye and makes you smile in amazement. Her creations ensure that the person celebrating feels that such care has gone into making their day so special.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved entertaining and decorating so when I had my 2 babies and their bdays came around I would spend weeks planing etc etc then couple of yrs back I came across Amy's blog and that was just a HUGE eye opener for me and what can be done ! Lots of things can be achieved cheaply with bit of time and imagination :) both Amy and you Charnel have inspired to to think outside of the square when cames to styling/ organising a - party / function or just plain dinner gathering with family and friends!! Thank you both for sharing do many ideas/ tips etc ;)
ReplyDeleteAmy was a big inspiration for planning my sons first birthday! I'm sure she will be an inspiration for many birthdays to come too :)
ReplyDeleteAmy gave me the confidence to make things simple. I always thought I was perhaps a little staid with my parties, always putting the same things together, lining them up, using white plates...and when I found Amy (and this blog) I embraced my love of simple styling.
ReplyDeleteAmy is surely the original creator of the dessert table and has inspired so many people and spawned an industry that has taken over parties worldwide - I'm thrilled to have discovered her not only as I have used her ideas and styling as huge inspiration for my own kid's parties and she was kind enough to feature Poppy's party on her website, but because she inspired you Sharnel, and your style, talent and creativity is equally as mind-blowing and inspirational. I was just about to order her book in Book Depository, but I'll wait just in case!
ReplyDeleteAmy inspired me to start creating my own dessert tables for parties. It took everything up a notch. I love her innovation and sense of style.
ReplyDeleteAmy has inspired me not only to create beautiful schemes for my daughter's birthday parties but even just beautifully coordinated table settings for my dinner parties and family meals. I would love to continue to be inpired by her delightful new book! Thanks Sharnel, your blog is such a feast for the eyes!
ReplyDeleteShandy

I think from the first moment I laid eyes on Amy's wonderful work I was inspired, inspired to always take the little extra care in presentation, to look at the extra ordinary and to ask myself each time.."how would Amy do it?"...thank you for continuing to inspire me Amy and for allowing me the confidence to 'have a go'
ReplyDeleteAmy's website and styling has addded an element of fun and creativity to creating my own children's birthday parties. Thanks, Amy!

ReplyDeleteThe first time I saw that all white dessert buffet with the big white helium balloons, I was smitten! Amy's designs are always so fresh and unique and her attention to detail is second to none. Having followed her blog for some time now, I love the fact that she freely gives advice to all the submissions she features. Such a generous thing to do. Oh and it's great to see so many Aussies featured on her blog- makes me so proud to see all the creativity and flair coming from Us Aussie girls!
ReplyDeleteBefore discovering Amy Atlas I don't think I fully understood what a dessert table was! I now have a passion for baking and parties! I love seeing my kids faces when I create something special for them. Not only has Amy inspired this, but she is also sending me broke as when I see her tables I seem to find excuses to buy new things!!
ReplyDeleteLinda Lester's entry
ReplyDeleteI love how Amy has made it OK - more than OK- for mums to host stylish and chic parties for their little ones. I had always felt I was a bit over the top dreaming up little details to suit the themes of my chidren's parties. Amy has been an inspiration through making parties and events "a language of love" that will go in my family's memory banks forever. Many thanks also to Sharnel for being a local creative talent who is generous with her advice and support.
When first stumbling across Amy on the internet a few years back she totally changed my way of parties!! Amazing the difference to before. What an inspiration for all kinds of parties. This amazing way of doing parties keeps me sane and gives me new projects with each childs party. This book would be a great asset to my collection of party books - can never have enough ideas, especially from Amy!
ReplyDeleteBeing a mum of 2 boys, I am inspired by other working women who can work, be a mum and "make things beautiful". Amy and you Sharnel teach me that I can successfully juggle several balls in the air. I am fairly new to dessert tables, but over the last 6 months, I know my designing skills are getting better and better.... thanks to inspirational women like you. xox Val
ReplyDeleteHer attention to detail is what I love love love!
