I thought I'd share with you how I go about planning my children's birthday parties.
For me it all starts with colour. I decide on the colours I want to use and try and work a theme around that. It's hard though to make the decision. Even as I was putting this inspiration board together I had at least two other themes (planned to an inch of it's life) floating around in my head.
So here is my first inspiration board. There may be more to come. We'll see. I'm going to keep you in the loop, how I pull it together, how much work goes into it. It's a labour of love I tell you.
Let me know what you think. I've got more images to come soon. So many images, so little time!

ReplyDeleteI just love your inspiration board! I had a woodland fairy party for my daughter's birthday last year! It was so fun and I had a blast preparing for it. We had a lot of toadstool touches but one that I forgot to put out was a toadstool snack made from cherry tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. (I have the link for them if you are interested!) Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteso cuuuuute!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you create your color pallet??
ReplyDeleteYou always amaze me what fantastic inspiration you have, always so damn creative, the little guests will be very lucky girls to share her special day x
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone.
ReplyDeleteI created the inspiration board in photoshop <3 CMV. The colour palette itself was taken from a set of graphics I purchased from Parasol Crafts. hope that helps.

Cute! You are so onto it and have freaked me out a little as Mia's 6th is ummm . . . in April . . .and planning has only just begun. Is supposed to be the party we're `not having' -lol! - so small and simple (but still sweet, of course) is in order. Don't think we can all wait till July to see this one come together - tease! xo
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the toadstools Sharnel.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharnel, Have a look at April's House and Garden Magazine. There is the most divine cubby house featured, with little toad stools outside it. I thought of you and Olivia's party as soon as I saw it! Emma
ReplyDeleteEmma, I saw it and thought OMGoodess how divine is that!! Thank you for thinking of me.

Hi Shanel!
ReplyDeleteI have been following along for a little while and am in love with all your work! I was also looking over at the SunnyMummy site-brilliant! Was wondering if you have had anything to do with the Bizness Babes workshops? I have just applied and am quite excited at the prospect! Olivias party board looks fabulous too...can't wait to see what you come up with!
Erin
Hi Erin,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and for the lovely comments.
No, I'm not affiliated with Bizness Babes, but I've heard great things about it though from Stacey.

Hi Sharnel
ReplyDeleteHave you had a look at Kikki-K's new mushroom range? They have very cute mushroom notebooks, gift tags and a mushroom stamp that would be great as part of her party favours.
Kind Regards
Maraka
