Polka and cookies

Delicious milk and cookie party over at Hip Hip Hooray for Mia's 2nd birthday.

My fave detail would have to be the innovative straws or maybe the polka dot backdrop. Hmmm can't decide, it's all so cute.

Strawberry Soiree

Pop on over to Glorious Treats for one the prettiest of Strawberry themed parties I've seen.

I absolutely adore this one from Cakewalk too.

I think these mini lunchboxes would work perfectly with both of these parties. Now, where to find them? Anyone got any ideas?

UPDATE: The handled favour boxes can be purchased from The Container Store.

Roll up!

This coming Monday I will be working with a talented group of girls, styling and photographing the Winter edition of Peekaboo Magazine. It will be my first gig with Peekaboo and I couldn't be more excited. I thought I would share the inspiration behind the party pages I'll be putting together.

I'm hoping to be able to give you a tiny sneak peek of my lolly bar set up early next week. Fingers crossed the weather holds out.

PS. I'll add photo credits very soon!

Mummy and Me Tea Party

My friend Stacey from Sunny Mummy hosted a Mummy and Me Tea Party for her daughter's birthday this past weekend. What a lovely way to celebrate her Starshine's special day. Be sure to pop over to the Sunny Mummy blog, you are sure to be inspired.

Olivia's 6th Birthday - Inspiration Board

So I've started planning Olivia's 6th birthday party to be held at the end of July. It will be Winter here in Brisbane, a perfect time temperature wise, to be able to play in the garden (although the garden won't look beautiful).

I thought I'd share with you how I go about planning my children's birthday parties.
For me it all starts with colour. I decide on the colours I want to use and try and work a theme around that. It's hard though to make the decision. Even as I was putting this inspiration board together I had at least two other themes (planned to an inch of it's life) floating around in my head.

So here is my first inspiration board. There may be more to come. We'll see. I'm going to keep you in the loop, how I pull it together, how much work goes into it. It's a labour of love I tell you.
Let me know what you think. I've got more images to come soon. So many images, so little time!

Vintage inspired parties in a box

If you are looking for a beautifully decorated but easy (yes, easy) party to throw for your childs next birthday then look no further than Banter and Frolic.

Each themed kit contains all the ingredients to make that signature statement including invitations, themed decorations, matching stationery items, children’s party props, table décor, and a full party plan manual detailing the party set-up, run of the day, games and food suggestions for ten little people.

All party kits can be purchased from the girls at Details! Details! You will find all sorts of other nice goodies on their site too. Do yourself a favour and pop over. You won't be disappointed.

I had the pleasure I meeting Vanessa and Siobhan last year when they where designing their stand for Mathilda's markets here in Brisbane. Here are some very poor photos, but their display was just gorgeous. I made the cake and cupcakes.

Another party, another theme!

With all that's going on in our little world at the moment, I'm thankful I have my son's 4th birthday to distract me from reality for just a little while.
I absolutely love pinwheels and the colour combo of navy and kelly green for a boy. It's so preppy and masculine at the same time.
I made a big dent in constructing the pinwheels last night with the help of my daughter.
I can't wait to share with you all the little details of William's birthday celebration.

For the Little Miss Perfect in all of us

I love navy and pink as a colour combination.  Always have, always will.  So I when I stumbled across this sweeter than sweet preppy style setting, my heart skipped a beat.

I'd love to adapt this and use as a base for my birthday party.  Oh, I'm not planning on having one, but just in case I do, this will be my inspiration!

What are your favourite colour combinations?
