Head on over to 100 Layer Cake to see a gorgeous handmade wedding I had the pleasure I working on earlier this year for Salma and Ziyaad.
Elizabeth Mitchell is my favourite recording artist to listen to with my children. We have all her CD's and I'm pretty sure we will wear them out soon. Enjoy!
It truly blows me away when I'm contacted by a reader or another blog author and they express their love of my little blog. A few weeks ago Madame Bon Bon contacted me and asked if she could ask me a few questions and post a interview on her blog.
If you would like to read it, head on over here.
If you are a follower of SD Designs on facebook you probably know I'm busily trying to complete my website and launch my online shop which will stock drink dispensers, tableware, serveware, custom tablecloths and unique and hard to find party decor and props.
On the way to school pick up on Tuesday I had two mind blowing phone calls. The first from a wonderful Australian charity who would like to meet and discuss the role I could play in their future (insert me with big cheesy grin). Meeting this week and very much looking forward to collaborating with them.
The second phone call I was sitting at my desk tapping away at my keyboard and my mobile rings. Hello! Hi Sharnel this is Carrie from ABC radio. Is this a good time to talk to you about possibly conducting an interview with you? Ummm YES! This is a good time! Actually you could've called me while I was on the toilet and that would have been a good time!
Anyhow, as I said I'm constantly being blown away by the super talented people I'm meeting through my work and the opportunities that are being presented to me.
Wishing you all a fabulous weekend. The sky looks magical outside. I'm off to take the kids to a fete with fellow Brisbane blogger and friend.
If you can take a few mintues out, please head over here and leave an uplifting message for my dear friend and her family that are struggling with the tragedy of their sons injuries after a car accident. Through this extremely difficult time she is launching her new range of stunning rattan furniture. You are going to love it!
This year will be the first time we celebrate Halloween in our house. We are planning on inviting six families around for a BBQ and halloween hunt in the back yard once the sun has gone down.
So I've been on the hunt for some haunting halloween inspiration and I didn't need to look far. Two of my favourite blogging gals - Glory from Glorious Treats and Kim from The TomKat Studio teamed up to create this spooky sweets station!
For more devilish details click here and here.
Just my luck, I'll be spending two weeks leading up to Halloween in the States visiting Glory in San Fran, Brooke Gianetti in Santa Monica and Kate Landers in NYC! Look out girls, here I come!
Sorry for the lack of posts lately however 'life' just seems to have taken over.
Just normal everyday business has been keeping me busy plus added into the mix trying to complete my new website and a few other exciting projects has left no time for blogging.
Actually I've also been spending alot more quality time with my children, colouring in, reading and just being 'with' them. You see some very dear friends of mine had the most shocking news three weeks ago. Their son was involved in a horrific car accident. The first week I was in utter disbelief that someone so close to me could be affected by something like this. Their lives are spent at the hospital and I'm sure they will never look at another hospital the same way again.
They have a long, hard, bumpy, muddy road ahead of them. They will have their family and friends to hold their hand every step of the way. To pick them up when they fall and to help guide them when they are lost.
Every minute I'm reminded of just how blessed we are. To enjoy every minute because in the blink of an eye your world could be shattered.
I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of the Spring edition of Peekaboo Magazine. If you can't wait for a hard copy though, it is available now online.
It's always a big thrill to see your work in print!
